This is a remake of a piece I did in July of last year, NOTHING BEYOND.
I loved the concept of the image, and deeply appreciated the attention it got (because of the groups I submitted it to, maybe?) but so many things about it bothered me that I've been fantasizing about painting it again forever and a day. I wanted to fix the anatomy (which hopefully I've done to an extent) and basically convert it into my developing semirealistic style. I feel like I've greatly improved in the past year, and I hope it shows!
Hopefully it's also recognizable as a remake...or a kick-your-own-ass, as it were.
For new followers, this is Eden Felicis - my original and most beloved character from my story, Ersatz Eidolon - in a moment of dubious peace, torturing himself over the evil he's committed, circa book four.
